HAECKER FAMILY FARM

Room for Bees to Roam

When the Haecker family immigrated they settled with dozens of other German families in Cibolo, TX.  203 acres of farm land has been passed down for three generations and farming is still managed by one of the original families.  We discovered the farm is a haven for honey bees when John began catching swarms - there is one particular tree by the creek we have dubbed "the lucky tree".

Today we have a dozen hives tucked into a mesquite grove.  The thorns on the trees and nearby cactus help keep the cattle out of the yard.  I do love to give the cows treats when we visit.

The honey from Haecker Farm is floral forward with nectar drawn from mesquite blossoms, sunflowers and wildflowers.
