At our first market, we LOVED sharing honey samples with the dogs who accompanied their people! It inspired me to create a treat that is wholesome and delicious for our canine friends.
Peanut butter is the perfect complement to honey and beloved by dogs. And I had just made a batch of protein bites for myself and thought whole oats ground into flour would work well for pup, too. And finally, a bit of beef bouillon to make them irresistible.
We did some pretty scientific testing with our neighborhood dogs and a couple at work. These little bits of love got two paws up!
The ingredients and process are so so simple…and I’m happy to share it!
Peanut Butter & Honey Dog Treats
1 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
3 cups Whole Oats
1/3 cup Honey
1/3 cup Beef Bouillon
1/3 cup Water
Grind 2 cups of oats into flour in a blender. Heat the peanut in microwave (30 seconds) until it will easily mix with honey, bouillon & oat flour. Add remaining whole oats. Add water to bring the mixture together. Turn out onto a floured surface and roll to desired thickness - between 1/8 - 1/4”. Cut out and bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
The treats are of course people safe. My silly sister tried one and thought they tasted like croutons. What you do with them is completely up to you!
